the core problem tends to be that posts are so often written "I'm right,
you're wrong," not that they're not valid topics of discussion.
sure, I find it incredible when one of my senators votes to decrease federal
disaster funding and then goes to request 100% coverage from the federal
government when a disaster happened but it doesn't mean I need to act like
he's a socialist or some equally extreme position.
politics is about finding the middle ground where you're slightly unhappy
but satisfied.
threads should be the same way. state your position, back it up, stick to
what you believe, but you don't have to be 100% right. then be ready to be
shown wrong and admit it. that's what being an adult it all about.
