I'm not sure how you are searching, but I just did a search on the word "giclee" and found 661 posts with that word. Doing an advanced search specifying the date there were 60 posts with "giclee" in 2010 alone.
So you might try looking again.
But getting back to you original post, since you are combining painting and photography, wouldn't you be applying under the "Mixed Media" or some similar category when applying to shows? In that category I would think your process would be even less of an issue.
