I tried putting backing paper on (at home) when I framed things, but found that
it just got torn (both in transport on while hanging in my booth)...plus, many
shows are dusty places and dust always got in from the front.
So, what I do now is put the backing paper on when I sell a piece. I bring a
little folding table which I use to for framing. I also clean the glass and
dust the frame when the piece has been sold.
This "finishing" usually only takes 15 mins or so (more if I get busy with other
customers) and almost everyone is happy to wait for a nicely finished framed piece.
