[artshow_photo] Re: Property ownership issue???

 

Humble opinion on my part. If you have a photo of a recognizable person get a release. If they won't sign don't use it. If someone you sell the image to then uses it for some other purpose and the recognizable person sues they are going to sue everyone including the photographer for their perception of being wrong. While you may 'win' the cost of legal counsel to do so versus the expense of a piece of paper and a bit of ink just don't make any sense.

Larry took the right approach with his example of the priest. He limited the usage through the stock agency. He knew how to protect the person he was imaging.

The land is littered with the remnants of folks who won. Just check out PDN or ASMP archives.
