Check the Red River Paper website...they've been doing such studies on Epson and Canon printers for a bit now, and have several published on their site...
As an example, this link will take you to their comparison between the R2400 and R1900:
http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cost-of-inkjet-printing-v1.html
I know they've done ones recently on the 1400,and I believe also the 3880, but not sure about the 2200. They announce new reports like this in their free email newsletter.
**DISCLAIMER** I do not have any connection with Red River, just a subscriber to their newsletter, and know of these reports being available.**

Subject: [artshow_photo] Epson cost/ml or sq ft of ink question
I have been gathering some information on the cost of ink for an epson 2200 and epson 3880. Since many here use Epsons and do more printing than the avg non show enthusiast, I would like some comments on the figures I've found.
Epson 2200 coverages uses about 1.5 ml of ink/sq or about $2 to $2.50 and about $1.25/sq ft for 3880 or a little less.
This is just ink cost not paper or maintenance.
How do these figures work out for real world use.
Thanks for any thoughts, Wyndham
