I've been a long time member of this group and while I've not been actively posting over the past couple of years, I've monitored the group daily. Due to the way I prefer to configure my mail application and the fact that my isp, ATT uverse has things configured, interaction with Yahoo is difficult. So from that point of view, this change does make some sense for me. I'm also doing fewer and fewer shows with the state of the economy and have moved on doing more photo workshops and tours rather than losing money at shows, so the addition of other topics is helpful. Also Yahoo doesn't seem to be actively enhancing or dealing with their group system and I suspect they will become an irrelevant player in this segment, leaving the group high and dry at some point.
A couple of questions. Will the archives be moved from the Yahoo group, There is a wealth of information in the archives that I have in the past referred to. I suspect this my prove difficult, if so will the yahoo group remain in some inactive form to allow looking at the past archives?
Is there some method of setting up an RSS feed or a daily journal like on Yahoo?
This represents a major change in a valuable group for the art show community, I wish you the best of luck in moving the community and keeping up the great spirit of the many contributors here.
