I discovered a 2-part glass cleaning process years ago that has worked better than anything else I've tried.
First, I clean the glass with any ol' cheap glass cleaner and a paper towel. Then I use an old bath towel to buff the glass. Clear, clean glass everytime. No residue or marks or lint. It's always worked for me.
Try it - it doesn't take much effort or resources. Note - I've never been a fan of newspaper - it takes longer, and (in my opinion) has never cleaned as well as the buffing with a bath towel.
