Hello,
I had been using it on my ipod 1st gen for about 8 months, which does not
read swiped cards you have to manually input CC numbers but works great on
2nd gen and above it has to do with there being no mic on the 1st. Gen.

Switched to1st iPad 3 months ago and really was never bothered by it reading
only in portrait mode until it's time for the customer to sign and went to
landscape.Until this thread I never really gave it any thought about it
being vertical only but I don't see that as being big disadvantage. Maybe if
you added yo images to the inventory and they are landscape it might be a
problem.
But then I have a portfolio of all my inventory in iphoto albums on the
iPad.

Help! How can I get it to read horizontal? It is useless to me in the
verticle orientation. I searched their database on the webiste and found no
answer,
