Hi Erica
Everybody has their own way of doing things that works best for them. It's a pretty individual process that is developed through trial and error.
I have an excel spreadsheet that I constructed with 3 "wall" that I insert tiny images on so I can see how it all looks. At the moment I have 31 different pieces ranging from 16 20x30 down to a number of 12x18s. I also offer many 20x30 prints in clear bags along with smaller 8x12 matted in clear bags.
Each image can normally be found in each size except for a few of the bigger sellers. I also have a number of different pieces as back-ups that are not being shown.
So you see one of the biggest expense's is just art work.

Hi All,
I am just getting started with my photography business. I am in the process of setting up my website which I will definitely ask for critiques for when it is closer to being finished. My plan is to start doing art shows to try to get my work out in front of people. Having never done a show before, I am curious about a few things:
1. How many different pieces of work do you usually take to a show?
2. How many prints of each work do you usually have on hand at a show?
3. What are the most common sizes that sell?
I would appreciate any feedback you have.
Thanks,
Erica
