Hi Mary Anne,
I have also been searching for a better way to store and move framed
prints to shows. Have searched for something that is sturdy and also
light-weight, but haven't found it yet. It seems that most art fair
artists have something home-made, typically made out of wood - which
can be quite heavy. After looking and looking for just the right
product, I decided to manufacture something myself - and am in the
process of doing that right now. It will be made with a strong
aluminum "frame", which is light-weight. The first one I am
constructing will be approximately 32" by 25" x 8". It will hold
approximately 5 or 6 framed pieces or approximately 4 or 5 canvas
wraps, all depending on the thickness of the wrap or the frame. I
wanted something that was easy to carry and did not break my back
loading into my car or my trailer - and that could also be carried in
to a gallery show hanging. I hope to have the first one made and
tested in a few weeks. If you are interested, let me know and I will
send you some pictures when they are ready. Right now I do not know
the exact cost as I am yet pricing materials, etc.
