RE: [artshow_photo] Re: Craft Hut with Mold

Our plumber recommended household bleach as a safer alternative to lye-based
products to keep drains clear; works like a charm and it is MUCH cheaper.
Bleach will dissolve anything organic and tons of other stuff, among them
clothing. I would definitely avoid even a drop on my precious (pricey) tent.
I also use bleach in a 10-1 water-bleach solution for cleaning concrete
floor in the studio and garage and it bleaches that to a nice dove gray but
also eventually pits the concrete.

The best if painful way to clean the tent and walls is by setting it up and
spraying it with water inside and out. Stubborn stains can be obliterated
with diluted Simple Green or similar organic cleanser but most come out with
mild dish detergent or auto soap. Rinse, repeat as needed, your neighbors
will get a big kick out of it and it is actually fun in the summer, not so
much in the winter.

Also, I take the time after shows to clean obvious spots such as bird
droppings or mud splatter prior to packing up the tent so bigger jobs can be
avoided; normally I just use a damp towel. I really only spray it down once
per season.
