RE: [artshow_photo] Re: Looking for padded frame bags.

Michael, I just stood the blanketed works up between my other carriers or
between cardboard boxes.

I used another folded blanket on the floor of the trailer to place all the
blanket pouches together. Just measure the work, cut the blanket and sew two
sides, making an envelope with a long flap that folds over the top of the
pouch so there is extra padding. Most of the time I used them to carry
larger works, up to 36 x 40 framed with glass. Never a problem but I tend to
pack tight so nothing moves during transit.

A huge customer-service advantage of the blanket pouches is that if a
customer purchased one or more of my larger works, I just gave them away
with the works. I purchased them from Uline.com, minimum 6 blankets I think,
it's been a while. Takes about 20 minutes to cut and sew up the sides to
make a simple pouch (like a flap shipping envelope). One blanket-pouch will
carry up to three framed pieces and I used foam board separators between the
pieces. For the largest works I also used a flat strap around the blanket
for ease of handling but most of the time I just put them on my hand-cart
and wheel them.

Once your work is nestled in your blanket pouch, how do you transport them
within your trailer?
