From the beginning I've transferred my images directly into
folders/subfolders with the date/subject or job. I use C2 and the Bridge and
I never have a problem locating a image file.
I do the same with the neg/slides I'm scanning in from my film shoots from
the last century[?]
To me I'm just transferring my old file cabinets system to harddrives
Since I'm split between doing commercial work shooting for the web sites I
build and shooting and printing for other visual artist artists and customer
that the frame shops send me.
I'm usually filing by the customers name, then the year/month and the the
name of the artwork. It works for me
I've just started working LightRoom into my work flow and I'm trying out
exporting the catalogs to folders to see how that works out.
I guess the best system is the one where you can put your hand on the image
without tearing the office apart or having o look a every image on each hard
drive.
