I have my D700 set to use DSC7 as a prefix instead of DSCN so that I
can tell the D700 files from my previously used D3 files. The only
problem I ran into is when I hit 10,000 images and they started over.
So I changed the prefix to DS70 so I'm good for 100,000 before
duplication in file names. The Nikon cameras, at least the top of the
line, allow you to specify how the file name prefix is generated.
