Since the 50D came out, Canon has introduced an additional level of
camera. The 7D fills that space and the 60D is intentionally a step
below that camera. If you want an upgrade from your 50D, get a 7D.
From my perspective, the current competitors for an Olympus Pro (E-3
successor) camera are the D300s and the 7D. I hope that Olympus
manages to get ahead of them in more ways than the E-3 was able to vs.
its contemporaries, and doesn't drag behind in the ways that are
important to me.
3 years is an eternity in cameras and computers. Hopefully, Olympus
is accelerating their update speed.
