One reason that people quiet down is that they are busy with other things. I know for a fact that Yuri Arcurs is busy with other things.
Another reason is that most people are capable of being tremendous hypocrites who love to tear down anyone who has built something. Generally people act in self-interest and there is no reason we should expect or demand that Yuri Arcurs or anyone else not do so.
