A couple of months ago I purchased about 1000 of Twikart's plastic corner guards, specified for 3/16" gatorboard. As I sell all my wall hangings as prints mounted to 3/16" board, I thought these would be perfect, and help reduce the amount of corner dings. Well they did a great job of protecting the actual corner.
However, in the process, they also created indentations in each corner of every single piece I currently have in stock (over 100). Plus, to add insult to injury, they also did a fine job of buffing the edges of my matte finished laminate. In short, every wall piece I currently have for sale is damaged due to these corner guards. Hopefully, all is not lost, as I hope to be able to salvage them by laboriously trimming off 1/4" from each side. A nice job for those long winter nights ahead.
If you're considering these corner guards, please take heed of my ill fate, or you'll find out the hard way that they incur more damage than what they offer in protection.
