I've been pulling CDs and DVDs from archived older work (pre-online
backup) at my day job and home at lot of in the past few months, and I'd
say the failure rate is 1 in 8. Which makes me pretty anti-DVD, these
days, plus tending towards slightly smaller HDs -- nothing above 500GB,
just so when a drive *does* go bad, it's less of a problem.
