You make good points but Google does not make the rules just as Yahoo or Infoseek or Excite did not make the rules before Google came along. Produce valuable content and you will be fine. If Bing takes over and you are putting up valuable content then you will be okay. No search engine can afford to ignore valuable content.

And while diversity sounds nice at some point it is worth it to hitch your wagon to the wagon train. Would I sign with Getty if I had a chance to triple my income? But the fact is that I didn't hitch my wagon to Google, they came along and became the best opportunity for me. I am not exlcusive with them and I take great solace in knowing that they could care less about little old me, as long as I abide by their perfectly reasonable TOS.

Because I have always focused on the age-old Internet wisdom of "Content is King" I have hardly even noticed, in 15 years, as power shifts from one company to another.

Yes, you are correct in that it is not wise to be totally dependent upon any one entity. I also generate income from direct sales as well as affiliate sales and if Google were to ban me I would have to cut expenses but I would still be making more than I would working for someone else.

I suggest stock photographers work hard at blogging and marketing THEMSELVES AND THEIR WEB PROPERTIES in all sorts of ways so they are never dependent on any one company for their security.
