I've been with 1st National processing for my credit card processing for a year now and I just tried out Square at my last show. It is definitely easy and quick. It is a little more expensive than my usual service though and I can't take American express or Discover like I can with 1st National. The on the spot authorization is good, but I've never had a loss before without it. Also, if you aren't in an area with good coverage(I was at a show in a large building a few weekends ago that the coverage was iffy depending on where you were in the building), you are fighting with that. There is no clunky machine, but the square device is so small that I have already misplaced it (and I don't usually lose anything ever) and in the course of almost a week I have yet to reach or hear back from Square to request a replacement. Whenever I've needed any support from 1st National, they've reliably been only a phone call away for immediate help.
Pro and Cons. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to switch.
