Small prints can go in padded envelopes. The largest padded envelope
size is about 13 x 19" though, so a 16x20 won't fit. An extra sheet of
cardboard will help insure against bending. Use scraps, or cutouts.
I make a cardboard sammitch out of scrap packing cardboard, and tape
the edges. I also put the matted prints into a plastic bag and seal
the opening to protect against water damage. All matted prints go into
clearbags first, then another plastic bag. Larger prints are
surrounded by scrap styrofoam or pink insulation foam, with two sheets
of cardboard top and bottom, and a full seal of packing tape all the
way around the edges.
