I tried to write a definition once of giclee by doing research on the
internet. There are numerous understandings and "definitions" of giclee.
It means different things to different people. I've seen it used as a term
for gallery wraps and reproductions by shows and even judges. The one thing
I can almost say definitively is that for a lot of shows it has a negative
connotation. I now refer to my process now as "pigment on paper".

No it isn't, if you look at the history of the term it just means inkjet
period. It was a term coined for the original IRIS inkjets because someone
thought it sounded better than 'inkjet print'. The puffed up artisy crowd
seize on the term....it is French after all.
And if you know what the French colloquial meaning was, you would never use
it. A hint think of a rude meaning for 'spurt'.
