$90 including your cell phone plan I hope? So unless in this day and age you don't have a cell phone for when your van breaks down on the way to a show the extra wireless data plan is more like an additional $20 for 3G which is more then enough for most folks usage.
The phone will store the charges and transmit them when you have internet access(3G/EDGE/Wifi) just like folks do with a regular reader when there is no coverage.
And of course you'll have to pay for a phone, but there are always specials.
