[artshow_photo] Re: Director's Chair

I've been doing shows now for two years, and used a cheapo canvas lawn chair for my first show, and I really felt as if I stood out like a sore thumb. I ended up standing most of the show, rather than sitting in that low chair. I talked to several artists that first weekend, observing what they were sitting in. The chair I saw several using was a Hollywood brand canvas chair.

Of course no local stores had anything worth getting, so as soon as I got home I was searching the Internet and found these chairs at several places, and the best deal was at Art Supply Warehouse. I just checked and they are now a bit cheaper than I paid, $69 plus $7.95 shipping.

They are canvas, very light, and fold up very rather flat. I find them comfortable enough, and they do have a foot rest. They are inexpensive, but they have gotten me through 2 years of shows, 12 shows in 2009, 18 in 2010. I really did not expect them to last this long, as I am definitely not a small man, but the chair is still in great shape. I far exceed whatever maximum suggested weight limit they may have!
