Re: [artshow_photo] Re: Printing Prints (Monitor choices)

I purchased an HP LP2480zx 24 inch monitor (IPS). This is known as the
Dream Color monitor. It has true 10 bit (per channel) input via Display
Port
and has several internal preset icc profiles to choose from, including 100%
Adobe1998 output. In addition the screen does not have a high gloss. It
is an
LED backlight and is quite adjustable. Maximun brightness is 250cdm and
can be turned down. I have mine calibrated to 100 cdm for a luminance of
100.
There is no color shift when turning it down. The field is even across
the entire
monitor and has a 179 degree field of view. It is pricey, currently at
$2399.00
list (w/o calibrator). You can find it discounted. I already owned a
Xrite Photo
Eye One so I did not purchase the calibrator which is nearly identical.
Why buy a
monitor with an expensive built in calibrator when you already have one
that
works with all your other monitors?

The increased gamut is really awesome. Let's hope the printers catch up.
