[artshow_photo] Using Portfolio App on the iPad - Problem

For anyone that's using Portfolio, I can't seem to get Portfolio to
import my Jpeg images. The images are from my presentation slide show
that have been saved at 1024x768 maximum quality Jpeg. Whether I try
to upload them from the drop box or import them from iPad media, I
get the error message:
"can't create file to load image.jpg"

Any suggestions? It's probably something basic I'm overlooking.
