[artshow_photo] Re: Mounting to acrylic services

> I have not used MPIX for acrylic, but I have ordered several prints pressed to canvas from them, and all of them have started coming loose from the backing. I complained once, and they replaced the prints but the replacements also were defective. All are unusable, and I am now reprinting elsewhere getting ready for Mayfaire here in Lakeland. Very disappointing.

The process of laminating prints to canvas has been largely superseded by direct printing to canvas with inkjets. The prints look better when printed directly and then wrapped, and you don't get the delamination. If that's all that MPIX offers in canvas, then you are wise to look elsewhere for your canvas. MPIX is well-regarded in other areas however, so as an acrylic backmount supplier they may be fine. Keep in mind that backmount prints are still susceptible to humidity and can mold, since the edges aren't sealed.

Some sources for canvas:
Simply Canvas
Bay Photo
White House Color
