On your website you say "your own photographs are always the starting
point."
do you 1) digitally use the photographic/camera image in the computer and
work from it/"manipulate" the data to create the painting? i.e. Painter's
'clone' function.
or 2) just use a printed copy (non digital) next to the computer as a guide
and completely hand draw the new digital image?
The reason that I ask is that, as I understand it, if 1) applies your work
is still "photography". by most definitions.
I have found that you cannot imply to the customer that it is not
photography, without creating a psychological distrust, which cannot create
a sale.
the customer must know it is work created from photographic/camera digital
data.
Problem is: customers do not know what a "digital painting" is, at least,
this is what I have observed.
Are you selling original photographs or reproductions of original paintings?
You cannot have more than one original painting.
None of the above should be considered comment on your work. I think it is
great.
all I am hoping to discuss is the marketing of this type of work. (Most of
my offerings fall into the same categories.)
Comments on my statements, above, are welcomed. this is only my "two cents".
I am quite interested in what others think in this area.

Subject: [artshow_photo] Gallery Wrap questions
Hi All,
My wife and I are working on some new projects this year and are preparing
to sell digital paintings (www.fineheartphoto.com ). The majority of them
will be gallery-wrapped canvases. We are trying to figure out a few things
with regard to gallery wraps (GW).
