> Hello - I would like to put out, that if you are a professional artist, and this is your business and you are planning on making money from your art show business, trying to get a logo designed on the cheap from a graphic designer, or (you say a student), for less, is quite frankly, not something you should skimp on. Whether its a student or a seasoned graphic design professional, undervalueing your logo, and also expecting something for relatively nothing, (or a small stipend) is quite unreasonable considering you are not a non-profit, and you are planning on making money, as this is your business. As a professional graphic designer, making logos, for me, is my business. When business is constantly taken away by well-intentioned people trying to undermine the entire graphic design professional by asking for work from students, or only being willing to pay a small stipend, I feel compelled to speak up. Even the student, who is a graphic designer, has tuitition fees usually totalling more than 10k per year, sometimes more tha 20k for a good school, not to mention the cost of graphic design software, computer equipment and their time. Please take this into consideration. If you have the ability to pay, you should, as you are only continueing to undermine a valued profession, and karmically, you will find people trying to undermine you, wanting to purchase your art, perhaps on the cheap, or for a bargain. You reap what you sow. Not trying to inflame you, but this is a major issue in the graphic design profession because it's happening constantly. I see my graphi design students getting taken advantage all of the time, and of course, when I was in school, there were always faux clients around trying to get something for nothing. You wouldn't ask a med student to perform surgery on the cheap, just to get a deal - would you?
