As someone who does his own printing I have to agree with Brian. There is
as much art to printing as there is composition and making an image. Citing
Ansel Adams was perfect. If Ansel was alive today his post-processing and
printing seminars would be very well attended. Those of you that send their
printing out to Costco are getting what you pay for and not much more.
Understanding print profiles, color gamuts, papers and inks are all parts of
creating an image that will touch people in the ways that you want your
images to do. And I can personally tell you that I love photography for
what I learn every day. From taking images to printing them to selling them
there are so many things to learn
And as an aside, thank you to the folks that post here regularly. The
insights I have gained here have been quite helpful
