Rod; Greetings.
I started my career when I lived in Madison in 1981. I used to do the show you're talking about. As we all know, weather is a big deal in our business and the first thing you have to do is define yourself. Are you a professional or a dilatant/armature? If you're a pro, you tough it out and take the good with the bad. If you're the latter, you do what you feel like doing. If you stay home, you lose your entry fee but you and your work stay warm and dry. The biggest down- side is you'll never know what might-have-been.
I define myself as a pro and do approximately 40 shows a year. I solved this problem, in part, by relocating to Florida for 7 months a year. This weekend I travel north to Michigan for the summer season in the Midwest. On the way, I'll stop in Cincinnati and do a one-day show on Sunday. My weather will be the same as yours, I guess. I'll be there, like the mail, come rain or come shine
.
BTW, I visited your website and congratulate you for bring back nostalgic feelings in me. Good work.
