It was in my 'sent' box - sent multiple times to several email addresses w/in my contact list. Each 'send' contained a different link, and none of the emails had any subject line.
The sad thing was, the hacker ended up maxing out the total number of emails hotmail allows in any one day (to "avoid spam", they say), so I couldn't even write to the folks who wrote me to say, "Hey, was this from you? The link didn't work" that it WASN'T from me, and not to CLICK the link, even. I had to wait 24 hours before I was allowed to send any email from my hotmail account.

Subject: Re: [artshow_photo] Apology to Group
Was the outgoing message(s) in your Hotmail out box? If so, picking a
good password and changing it occasionally is probably the cure.
If not, it means that your address was spoofed, and there is no defense
against that other than possibly changing your e-mail frequently. It's
trivial to send mail with any address as "From:", although there are
plenty of things we're doing at the server level to try to cut down on
that traffic there's nothing that the putative sender can do. On the
other hand, the fact that the message did go to addresses you already
correspond with (such as this list) means there was a breach. Given the
way Hotmail works, that almost certainly means the breach was at Hotmail
and the password reset will take care of.
At least until the next time. I recommend very strong passwords for
anything related to e-mail. Like DB#^89dls, which includes symbols,
numerals, and upper and lower case letters.
