Re: [artshow_photo] economy - my last word

Let's take politics out of this.  If anyone believes that one party or another is looking out for your personal best interest, I've got some beachfront property in AZ that you might be interested in.  WE THE PEOPLE run things.  If we think the economic environment is safe and decide that spending is a good thing, the economy soars.  If we're reluctant to spend, the economy dives.  Bill Clinton didn't create the boom, neither did Reagan.  Consumers (consumer confidence) did.  And will again.

I have a BBA degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics.  So I know at least something about the subject.  I've voted for both major parties and am TOTALLY impartial as I'm inherently Libertarian.  If you have good work and someone has discrecionary money and are so stirred, they'll buy it.  If you have crap, they probably won't even if money's spilling out of their pockets.

Get over the "blame game".  If your work's not selling, either do better work or quit trying to sell it.

Rod - Perry - others. Tolerance is not the issue. My point is that I assume that this forum was designed to provide information, and exchange views regarding art shows. I find it disrespectful, and hard to tolerate, when anyone injects their personal political views where they are not expected, or wanted, no mater how they vote. Having the ability to delete is not the problem, but having to is. Why should anyone have to delete useless off topic gibberish or spam. I would think it would be more productive to discuss how to increase art show revenues, or the latest show trends, or anything regarding eliminating wasted time. I'm sure everyone on the group has great ideas, and would like to hear them. I just expect them to be regarding what I believe was the topic intended for this group. MTC

David, A little tolerance please. If I'm not interested in a thread I just delete it without opening it in the future. Some email names I just delete automatically. I don't think agreeing with any one person should be a requirement to converse without being insulted. If my names on the thread; just don't open it I don't need to hear from you.

I don't think this is the proper place to push your left-winged pseudo good economy crap. It's easy to find data to support anyones views. If you don't have anything good to say about art-shows then stifle yourself. Getting tired of deleting useless gibberish. IMHO

The thing is that government NOW is the smallest per person in the history of
the United States - it does more now then ever before and on less money from
private citizens.

The problems started when America was rich and we failed to save for a rainy
day!

But now that the coffers are filling up again and government revenue is running
black many of the people wringing their hands and screaming we can't afford all
of this free health care and education are at a loss at what to do. The State
of Wisconsin is making money hand over fist but still hundreds of millions are
being cut from education because education is viewed as unnecessary by
Republicans and the Tea Party!

But - - - lets not make this all political and rile people up LOL

Checks and balances is best.

I'm done and will TRY to not respond more to this ongoing debate
