[artshow_photo] 7th Show thoughts and things Newbies might be interested in

Sometimes (stress sometimes) thoughts from a relitive newbie help others
starting on this adventure.

Yesterday I had to think on my feet.  My canopy was in the center row of a 3 row
event so I needed to have two open sides - first time THAT had happened.  Be
prepared to adjust your best laid plans.

During the show I noticed that the people walking buy all seemed to notice and
be drawn into the booth from one piece while ignoring a piece right next to
it but facing a different direction.  I moved the "better" piece to below the
draw and it worked much better.  Move things around during the show once you see
the traffic patterns.

Another hint - take two shirts - a set-up shirt and an event shirt.  Yesterday I
forgot my event shirt (as did Steve,  another forum dude here).  You can get
pretty hot and sweaty setting up.  Luckely I cooled off before it reached 92 on
the cement.

I've been comparing each show to a baseball game - when I look back it helps to
focus my "success".  Yesterday, no home runs, or triples, had a double and a
good number of singles for a one run victory.  LOL

Remember - it's all a game, you just have to figure out how to win it.
