Re: [artshow_photo] What Subject Matter - Photo District News Article

I go to Photo LA every year. Photo LA is one of the largest collector photo
dealer trade shows in the US. I am always amazed at the crap, and the
prices dealers are paying. It seems that there is very little relationship
to talent. Perhaps refreshing or compelling(?) images. Mostly the more
mistakes that can be made in image creation the better chance of selling.
I've seen entire walls of large prints that are so out of focus you can't
determine the subject matter. The latest craze(maybe last year now) is
large prints made from iphones with lots of camera movement. I am scanning
old discolored and fuzzy slides from the 60's thinking that maybe they have
a market after all.
