The 1925 is more than I wanted to spend and the 1735 and 1730 have both been
discontinued. What do you think of this one?

Hi Alison:
I highly recommend a wide-screen projector (higher than XGA).
I also recommend a 3 chip projector over a DLP projector, but that will
usually add some weight and cost. My friend recently bought this one and
it's a great choice (it's about $1800): Canon REALiS SX800 SXGA+
I would look at this one as well:
Epson PowerLite 1925W -It has DVI, so you can get a DVI to HDMI cord.
