take a tape measure to the dealer and measure the shortest distance in
multiple cars each way before deciding. car dimensions are often
advertising-world exaggerated.
for example take a look at the rav4 photos on the toyota website. notice
how there's at least two different widths across the back and the inside
it's taller in the middle than at the lift gate. you need to find out what
exactly toyota is telling you and I bet it's not the skinniest width.
the chevy hhr in comparison appears to have straighter lines in the cargo
area overall
you need to know how the dimensions work out real world and have a list of
cars that will fit your stuff before you look at cost, gas mileage, etc at
all otherwise you've picked out a car that doesn't fit what you'll do with
it.
