Ahhh yes, the old California-model of art festival: artists spend the night
in their vans parked behind their grungy ezups or lean-to tarps, the
abundant and wealthy public brings cold hard cash to eagerly pay for 5K
paintings, all artists sell out by Sunday noon and go surfing the rest of
the day while sipping piña coladas
DUDE!!! Bring back those days!!!
In jest,
Maria

Subject: Re: [artshow_photo] Re: Collecting sales tax in Minnesota
This made me chuckle - remembering Beverly Hills Affair in the Gardens one
year -- asked the promoters on site what the tax rate was; they didn't know.
Went around and asked a bunch of other artists, and they all looked at me
like I had two heads--like "why? you mean you're actually going to charge
tax?" Unfortunately, all the patrons also expected not to pay tax. Weird.
