I look at the annual cost of the site and the time and effort to upload the
images as another piece in the marketing of my pictures. I would never look
at a web site as my only way or primary way to produce sales. It would be
very hard to make it happen without recognition, along with a large budget
of time and money. That's why, I'm would guess, Larry ask his question.
As for, is it worth the effort? For me it is. I spent several hours
learning the program ( true for any program) and uploading in the beginning
but now it's a few minutes to upload a new image that I've got ready to
offer, or to remove one. However, the biggest value for me is the fact that
I can order from my own site a print of various sizes that I want to mat or
frame. I, and I would think others like me, don't have a budget for a large
multi-color printer. I have to say that the prints I get are really good
quality at reasonable prices.
Just an added note... I can easily distinguish what I buy from what others
buy because of the lower final cost per print. I don't show *my* purchases
as revenue, I show my purchases as cost-of goods sold at the end of the year
for tax purpose.
