[artshow_photo] Re: mounting on wood, plywood, mdf, luan

 

Before you go the Gatorfoam route, which has been increasingly popular amongst us pastelists, do note:
Gatorfoam is severely compromised by any exposure to UV light. It will break down rapidly if not kept out of light. This is according to conservators at the National Gallery of Art in DC. I've attended some of their public talks.

I'm paying about $75 for 3/4 4x8 black/black/black. If you are going to frame you can do 1/2 inch and for thicker you can edge band it with hot melt edge banding in just about any color of the rainbow.
