Chris,
First of all, WONDERFUL photographs. Just love your work! Beautiful colors, and nice compositions.
Now, for some feedback on your website. Glad to see a fellow zenfolio user! Isn't it great? I am by no means very experienced, or an expert. Just merely my thoughts...
My verdict on watermarks is still out, but I like yours. I didn't even notice it until a few images in. Nice and subtle.
Like someone else mentioned, I definitely think you need a title on the Home page. You have one on all the other pages, so it's just a matter of changing your page settings. I prefer a menu bar at the top of my Home page as well. The rest of my pages have it, so I put it on the Home, page as well-for consistency. Some may disagree on that one.
My instinct is to save the "About" info for a separate page only. I don't think it's bad to put it on the Home page, but would change the info so that it doesn't repeat exactly what the About me page says. I would keep it short and simple if you're going to keep it on the Home page, and let people navigate to the About page to find out more.
This is picky, but I would change "All my Photos" to something like "Gallery." It just sounds more professional.
Also, either delete the Featured page, or use it. My suggestion would be to shorten your slideshow to 10 of your very best images, and put the rest of the slideshow images in the Featured section.
Lastly, I like that in your gallery (or "all my photos"), you grouped the images. However, I think there are waaaaaay too many images in each group. I'm not sure why, but there is something about a limited selection that is very appealing and desirable. Like a boutique as opposed to Wal-Mart, or a fine steak dinner compared to an all you can eat buffet. I love your photography, but you give me too many choices, and don't give me a clear sense of who you are as an artist. My suggestions would be...
First of all, group them even further. For example, in "Landscapes" you have a lot of images that aren't actually landscapes, and could be put into groups such as "Nature", etc. Secondly, eliminate similar images. For example, on page 6 of landscapes, you have a bunch of very similar images of a dead flower. Pick one of those- whichever you feel is your very best. Trust me, I know it's hard to choose. But if it's hard for you, it's probably harder for a potential customer. Having one standout image of a particular subject is probably going to do you more good than having 10 so-so ones. Third, it may even prove beneficial for you to narrow the subject matter that you present entirely. It is HARD, and I haven't even fully taken my own advice here yet. But, think about what you want people to remember you for. Right now, you're "the guy with photos of a bunch of different things." You could easily be the guy with "the beautiful landscapes" or "the beautiful waterfalls" or even "the breathtaking desert images".
Now, I think I will go work my website and take some of my own advice!
Hope that helps! Keep up the beautiful photographing!
